Pickard speaks on how getting started in the industry was difficult, but companies like GM, Ford, and Chevy had opportunities for minorities and women when others did not.

He goes on to note that the challenges those in the industry today have surely changed, as companies and entrepreneurs are now forced to compete in a global market with new challenges.
